For 6 years, I have had the chance to interview some of the best and brightest minds in the marketing and business world on my web show called Delivering Marketing Joy. When I started the show, it was unique. There were not a lot of programs like it at all, and there certainly were none in my industry. I am proud that week after week, the show has continued to come out…and that people have continued to be willing to be my guest.
I have learned a lot from my guests over the years. And I have also learned a lot from just showing up. As Seth Godin would say, “I have shipped my work” over and over…and I am proud of that.
People have asked me many times what lessons I have learned from this show. It’s a tough question to answer because there are so many.
But one resounding lesson is simple: Keep showing up.
Some people will dabble in creating. They will ship their work one time (or a few) and then it will get hard. Life will get in the way. And they will stop. The people who simply “keep showing up” will be the ones that are left. With that in mind, here are the last few Delivering Marketing Joy episodes…as we keep it going.
Delivering Marketing Joy Episode 312 with Noah Lapine: Noah is a business owner and one of the newest board members of PPAI. He talks about why he chose to serve in this way, and why he has a board for his company as well. Watch that episode here.
Delivering Marketing Joy Episode 311 with Brian Porter: Brian is an industry veteran who just jumped into creating content during the pandemic. I talk to him about why…and how that is going. He also called me “the podfather” which I thought was funny…and goes to my overall point here about showing up. Watch that conversation here.
Delivering Marketing Joy Episode 310 with Michelle Turner Ganz: We talk a lot about business and work here, but what is the point of work? Hopefully the point is to create a life worth living. Michelle joins us to talk about her experience of doing just that. She and her daughter went on a 26 day Yoga Retreat to become certified instructors. How did she do that in the middle of a pandemic? Watch this one to find out.
Oh…and next week we will be doing a live Delivering Marketing Joy where I will answer questions from the audience. This “Ask Kirby” edition will be November 4th. If you have questions for me to answer, let me know. I would love to “show up” and answer yours.
