Millions of people dread Mondays. As a matter of fact, some people ruin Sundays because of it! They spend the time dreading what the week will bring…instead of envisioning the life they want to create. While I can’t help you if you hate your job, I can give you this simple piece of advice.
Be more intentional about how what you put in your brain at the beginning of the week.
Most people start their week off worried about the week (or day) to come. They stress and worry and spend a ton of time and energy creating (in their mind) a life they don’t want. Instead, start thinking of the life you DO want. Make the time to start thinking of the things you want create.
Often, that starts with what you put in your brain first.
When you take the time to read or watch or listen to voices that inspire you, that can really set the foundation for a good day. With that in mind, here are a few things I recommend “putting in your brain” on Monday.
The Monday Minute: Each Monday I drop a short video designed to inspire and entertain. While there are certain videos that pertain to sales, most of these are short personal development lessons that apply to anyone. You can check out this week’s here.
Seth Godin’s Blog: If you read this blog at all, you know I reference what Seth says a lot. One reason is that he is a hero of mine. The other is, I read his blog every morning. It’s what I put in my brain first thing. You can find that here.
The brandivate blog: Bill Petrie is my buddy and we do the Promo UpFront podcast together each Friday. But every Monday, Bill drops a blog about sales in the promo industry. They are thoughtful and get my wheels turning. You can find those here.
These are just three things I put in my brain on Monday. They may speak to you…or they may not. But find that thing that lifts you up and inspires you. Your Mondays will start to pick up.
