There is a saying that people coach us to remember when we are going through tough times.  You have likely heard it before.  “This too shall pass.”  It’s a good reminder that times will get tough, but they won’t last forever.  It’s also a great reminder that we need to “not get too high” when things are rolling.

Even if we are on top of the world, “this too shall pass.”

It’s not a fatalistic point of view.  This is only a reminder that in life there are seasons.  There are seasons when you are on top of the world and seasons when you hit rock bottom.  They are the reality at the moment…but I find it helpful to remind myself that they are not forever.

It’s just a season.

So if you are in a season of turmoil, you have my sympathy.  But remind yourself that “it’s just a season.”  You can make it through.  You got this.  On the other hand, if you are killing it right now…good for you!  Consider this my standing ovation for you.  But it’s just a season!  Remember to be planting seeds for that next time in life when challenges rear their ugly head.
